Foundation Stone Laid

We are beyond excited that the first brick has been laid at The Lower Acre – marking the official start of its build journey! This is a significant milestone in our efforts to create a vibrant and sustainable new community.

In collaboration with the talented team at Wates, we are constructing 381 high-quality homes at The Lower Acre, thoughtfully designed with the future of our residents in mind. As the neighbourhood grows, we will introduce essential amenities, including a new primary school, a local centre, beautiful community gardens, playing fields, sports facilities, and a network of green spaces and parks where neighbours can connect and immerse themselves in the outdoors. Additionally, there will be a new road, footpaths and cycleways will improve access for everyone, making it easier to navigate our friendly neighbourhood!

Sustainability is at the core of our work, and we are committed to making eco-conscious choices in our construction practices – ensuring our homes are gentler on the environment. The homes at The Lower Acre will feature energy-efficient options, such as ground-source heat pumps, electric vehicle charging stations, and high-speed internet. These innovations will help reduce energy consumption and promote a greener, more sustainable lifestyle for all residents.

Beyond the homes themselves, The Lower Acre is part of our broader initiative: One Horton Heath project, which aims to create over 2,500 new homes while preserving one-third of the land as valuable open green space. Over 125 acres of ancient woodland and green space are being protected and enhanced by implementing smart water management systems and planting native trees and flowers. We are also creating safe habitats for local wildlife and promoting biodiversity. Together, these initiatives allow residents to enjoy captivating outdoor spaces and develop a deeper connection with nature right on their doorstep.

Laying the foundation stone is just the beginning, and we eagerly look forward to our official launch event. The vision of One Horton Heath is coming to life, transitioning from a blueprint to reality, and we couldn’t be more excited to deliver it.
