eastbrooke homes hosted the grand opening of Postmark Place on 12th November. The ceremony was performed by Eastleigh’s Deputy Mayor, Councillor Janice Asman and Eastleigh Councillor Paul Bicknell.
Occupying the site of the former High Street post office and sorting office, Postmark Place couldn’t be more central – and convenient for Eastleigh’s diverse range of shops, restaurants and leisure venues.
The development consists of 28 one- and two-bedroom apartments. Ten of the apartments have been designated for social housing – the first of its kind for Eastleigh Borough Council in over 27 years. The Council’s Housing Team are currently processing applications from Hampshire’s Housing Register to occupy these homes. The remaining 18 apartments are available on the private rental market and all but one have been reserved so far.
Event attendees toured the development and were shown a selection of the apartments on offer. eastbrooke homes were set up in one of the ground floor commercial units providing information about the brand and treating guests to delicious cupcakes.
The design of the apartments reflects the Council’s commitment to sustainability, with heat recovery systems providing constant fresh air to the homes, rooftop solar panels, a secure bike store for all residents and a high energy performance rating.
The Leader of Eastleigh Borough Council, Councillor Keith House said:
“Postmark Place is a great example of the Council addressing the housing crisis by building homes where they are most needed and creating high-quality, sustainable properties where people are happy to live. Postmark Place will also add to the vibrancy of Eastleigh town centre and I’m sure that its residents will take advantage of the many amenities it offers”.
