Hedge End is the closest village to The Lower Acre, the first residential parcel at Horton Heath. Located east of Southampton in the borough of Eastleigh, the village is approximately 2.7 square miles and borders Botley and West End villages.
The village centre conveniently brings together all essential amenities. Here, you’ll find a Post Office, library, banks, travel agents, hair salons, and barbers, all within easy reach. A selection of cafés, takeaways, a pub, and even a community microbar adds to the charm of this central hub.
To the north is a shopper’s delight with a large retail park exhibiting over 30 brands to enjoy. There is everything you could need, from supermarkets to home and fashion outlets.
For arts and entertainment, The Berry Theatre provides year-round performances, including family-friendly shows, live comedy, music events, and inclusive cinema sessions.
Hedge End is home to a range of educational options, with four primary schools and one junior school. Secondary education is provided by Deer Park School, established in 2021, featuring modern state-of-the-art facilities and a “Good” Ofsted rating.
Sports enthusiasts have plenty to enjoy. The Utilita Bowl, home to Hampshire cricket, also hosts concerts and light shows throughout the year. Local football thrives at Hedge End Ranges Football Club, which caters to all age groups, including veterans and youth teams. Hedge End Golf Centre offers a driving range and fun crazy golf for families, while the nearby David Lloyd Club features a pool and fitness facilities. Wildern Leisure Centre’s newly refurbished gym also ensures fitness options for everyone.

Additionally, local bus services provide direct routes to Eastleigh, West End, Fair Oak, Horton Heath, and Southampton, making the village an excellent transport hub.
