Partners Gather to Celebrate Success
Representatives from eastbrooke homes, Eastleigh Borough Council and project partners gathered at Aviary Court for the official opening ceremony, marking the successful completion of the development and celebrating the residents who have already made the new homes their own.
The Mayor of Eastleigh, Cllr Richard Gomer said:
“I’ve just had a look inside at one of these brilliant new homes, incredibly spacious, incredibly well designed. And I know that the residents who we’ve met today are really looking forward to making these homes their own and building their lives in them.โ
Strategic Funding Unlocks Future Growth
The arrival of the first residents marks another positive step forward in Eastleigh Borough Council’s commitment to delivering much-needed affordable homes for local people. It also comes shortly after the Council’s landmark announcement that it has secured ยฃ154.4 million in funding from Homes England through the Social and Affordable Homes Programme 2026-2036.
Eastleigh Borough Council is one of only three local authorities in England selected as a Homes England Strategic Partner, providing long-term investment that will support the delivery of 1,042 new social and affordable homes across the Borough over the next decade.
For eastbrooke homes, Aviary Court represents exactly the kind of development that this significant investment is intended to support, creating high-quality, energy-efficient homes in well-connected locations where people can build their lives and become part of thriving communities.
A Lasting Investment in Eastleigh's Future
Situated on Nightingale Avenue, Aviary Court offers residents the best of town-centre convenience and sustainable living. Southampton Airport Parkway railway station is nearby, providing excellent transport links across the region, while a wide range of leisure and community facilities, including Places Leisure Eastleigh, are all within easy reach.
The development reflects the shared ambition of eastbrooke homes and Eastleigh Borough Council to provide homes that genuinely meet local needs, particularly for those who may otherwise struggle to access suitable housing.
Since welcoming its first residents, Aviary Court has already demonstrated the value of investing in high-quality affordable housing that enables local people to put down roots in well-connected and sustainable communities. Alongside major projects such as One Horton Heath, where the first homes are nearing completion, the development showcases how strategic funding and long-term planning are helping to create new opportunities for local people.
The official opening provides an opportunity to celebrate not only the completion of the scheme, but also the positive impact it is already having on the lives of residents who now call Aviary Court home.
Cllr Keith House, Leader of Eastleigh Borough Council, said:
“Eastleigh Borough Council takes delivering housing really seriously. It’s not just about given planning business, it’s about improving the quality of people’s lives, close to services, close to jobs, close to child support.โ
For eastbrooke homes, the opening of Aviary Court is an important milestone and another step towards delivering homes and communities that people are proud to call home.
